This 9-day package vacation covers all the highlights of Vietnam, stretching from the north to the south, encompassing some of its most beautiful scenery and historically interesting cities. The internal flights connecting important cities such Hue, Danang and Ho Chi Minh city are designed in order to save your valuable time. From the amazing limestone karsts of Halong Bay to the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City, this Highlights package tour is perhaps the most comprehensive travel experience on offer anywhere in Vietnam.

ITINERARY

Arrive at Noi Bai international airport. Welcome by our local tour guide and driver to your hotel in the city centre. Overnight at your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Start to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts and One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple, Tran Quoc pagoda, Quan Thanh temple. Cyclo ride around the Old Quarter streets. Enjoy the Water Puppet show in the evening before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Halong through the Red River Delta. Boarding on a traditional wooden junk on arrival and enjoy a welcome drink and a splendid lunch of local seafood. Then begin a 4-hour cruise of the bay to see the amazing limestone karsts with different real-world formations such as: Lion, Tea Pot, Toad, Dau Nguoi (Human Head) islets. Take a walk through Sung Sot, the "Amazing Cave". There is  plenty of time for swimming and sunbathing (weather permitting), as the Junk anchors for a night in the Bay. Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner in the beautiful restaurant before retiring to the comfort of your cabin.

Early risers can enjoy an energizing swim in the cool, calm, quiet of the overnight anchorage. A buffet brunch is served from 07:30 to 09:30. The cruise then continues, passing more interesting formations such as Titot and Soi Sim Beaches, Ngon Tay (Finger) islet, Thien Nga (Swan) islet and Ga Choi (Fighting Cocks) islet on the return to Halong City. Disembark at Halong Tourist Wharf for the return to Hanoi. Transfer to Noi Bai airport for boarding flight to Hue. Pick up and transfer to your hotel

Day 5: Hue city tour (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Take a morning cruise on the Perfume River to visit the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, Thien Mu pagoda and the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, in a setting of gardens and lakes. In the afternoon, visit Dong Ba market, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, and the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City. Enjoy a night boat trip on the Perfume River enlivened by a performance of Hue folk songs. Overnight in Hue

Day 6: Hue - Danang - Hoi An (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Hoi An, stop for photos and sightseeing at the Hai Van pass, Lang Co beach, the Marble mountain. In the afternoon, stroll around the town, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, and the Chinese-style temples and pagodas. Overnightl in Hoi An

Day 7: Hoi An - Danang - HCMC City Tour (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Danang airport for boarding to Ho Chi Minh City. Pick up and transfer to hotel. A sightseeing tour to the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame cathedral, the Old Central Post Office. Tour of Chinatown and Thien Hau & Quan Am pagodas after seeing the Emperor Jade Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum. We end the city tour with Ben Thanh market where anything and everything is for sale. Overnight at  hotel in HCMC

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh city - Mekong Delta (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for My Tho. Take the boat ride through the Bao Dinh natural canal, view the stilt houses and the fruit plantation along the river sides. Visit the My Tho wholesale fruit market. Proceed to the Tortoise island. Lunch served in the heart of the orchard. Enjoy the nice boat ride through the Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruise under the shadow of the water coconut trees. Visit the family where you can experience the agricultural lifestyle. Walking through the fruit plantation in Thoi Son island, enjoy the rowing boat ride along the creeks before returning to My Tho by motorised boat, drive back to Saigon.

Day 9: HCMC - Cu chi tunnels (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Cu Chi to visit the underground tunnels. Transfer to the aiport for deaparture. End of services.
