Route: HCMC - Can Tho - Soc Trang - Chau Doc - Dong Thap - HCMC
Day 1: Arrival in SAIGON (D)
Arrive in Saigon, pick up & transfer to hotel. Take a half day city tour to glimpse the bustling city with its highlight. Visit Reunification, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Post office and the War Remnant Museum. A shot walking down the shopping Dong Khoi street & stop at Ben Thanh market – the city‘s symbol – for shopping. Overnight in Saigon
Day 2: SAIGON – VINH LONG – CAN THO (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Cai Be. On arrival, take a boat trip along the mighty Mekong River and its tributaries to view the daily lives of people who work and play on the waterways of the Mekong Delta. The trip includes visits to the floating market at Cai Be, to an authentic old house and to a family-run business producing rice-paper-a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. Lunch on an island in a local house set amongst orchards and bonsai trees and enjoy performance of traditional Vietnamese music. Excursion to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 3: CAN THO – SOC TRANG (B,L,D)
Early morning boat cruise to visit Cai Rang floating market. The market is filled with small boats darting through the water as vendors buy and sell their wares. Cruise through small canals and stop at a fruit orchard to taste some of the succulent fruits of the Mekong Delta. Back to hotel. Then we proceed to Soc Trang, 60 km from Can Tho that houses some colorful Khmer Buddhist temples. Visit Kh’leng pagoda & Bat Pagoda. Back to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 4: CAN THO – LONG XUYEN – CHAU DOC (B,L,D)
Morning, drive to Chau Doc via Long Xuyen. Long Xuyen – home town of Hoa Hao Buddhist sect. On the way, stop over at Long Xuyen Catholic Cathedral, incense stick making village. On arrival in Chau Doc, check in hotel. Afternoon , visit Sam Mountain, which has dozens of pagodas and temples and a magnificent view of Cambodia (just a few kilometers away), visit home of the Lady Chua Xu Temple, a favorite pilgrimage site for Vietnamese on Tet holiday. Overnight in Chau Doc
Day 5: CHAU DOC – DONG THAP (B,L,D)
After breakfast, take the morning boat trip to visit the floating village with fish farm - an interesting and curious feature of Chau Doc, visit the village of Cham ethnic minority and Muslim Mosque. Proceed to Cao Lanh – capital of Dong Thap province. Visit Nature Reserve Tam Nong - the breeding ground of red-headed, bare-necked cranes, a rare, endangered species of land birds. Overnight in Cao Lanh
Day 6: DONG THAP - SAIGON (B,L,D)
Morning, excursion to visit Tu Ton rose garden, which has over 500 different kind of roses. Enjoy the boat cruise around the swamps and the Tram forest - which was used by the so-called Viet Cong Army during the anti-American wartime as a base called Xeo Quyt. Back to Ho Chi Minh city. Overnight in Saigon
Day 7: SAIGON – Departure (B)
Free at leisure until transfer to airport for departure.
